Pharmacy Nurse (RN) - Acute Nursing
Full Time
Monday - Friday
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This position is responsible for distribution of pharmaceuticals and select biologicals to all patients and ancillary departments, in accordance with the hospitals established policies and procedures. Duties include:
Assures that the ordered pharmaceuticals are available for patient administration
Provides Patient Education
Maintains a current and accurate formulary, in response to needs of the patient population
Assures that ancillary departments have the necessary pharmaceuticals required for patient care
Maintains adequate stock of pharmaceuticals at all times
Assures that expired medications are unavailable for patient use
Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures relevant to the Pharmacy Department
Assures that all medication orders are verified by a Pharmacist in a timely manner
Maintains a working relationship with the Consulting Pharmacist
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Must have a current, valid Registered Nurse License.
Must have current BLS certification.
Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in a Acute/Med Surge or Emergency Departments
Prior experience in Pharmacy Nurse role preferred
